You Fell From The Sky
02:57
|
|||
It Started out sunshine and roses
Then came dry leaves and snow
Till false-hearted schemes had shattered my dreams
and left me with nowhere to go
(Then) You fell from the sky on me darlin’
a gift from the heavens above
Must of seen me walking in circles all alone
and sent me someone to love
My heart was frozen in winter
there it likely would stay
The heat from your landing melted all the ice
And washed all my sorrow away
You came out of the sun with no warning
I never expected a change
A vision of you, out of the blue
My life will never be the same

Lyrics:
You were lost in the desert, You were sinking in the sea
There was no chance of survival for you
He sacrificed Himself just to give you a way out
Why do you treat Him like you do?
When the bright sunshine breaks through a cold sky
a new morning dawns for you
You never take the time to thank Him for the day
Why do you treat Him that way?
Did you forget how far he came (for you) when you were all alone
You were tired you were beaten you were tore
You were thankful He pulled you from the pit that you were in
But, You’re not that way anymore
If you knew someone that treated you like that
You know you’d never call him a friend
Jesus Loves you so much that He gave His life for you
Why do you treat Him like you do ?

Soul Of A Soldier
04:10
|
|||
Lyrics:
Where does the soul of a soldier go when he falls from his wounds on the field ?
As the battle still rages over his head, he takes his place with the dead
He has fallen in the hands of his maker, who has loved him since the time of his birth
The sun has set on the days of his service to the kingdom of God here on earth
Friends who fought by his side for so long, soon turn to see how he died
The bravest and strongest men of that band just hang their heads low and cry
His wife stares out of her window tonight, thinking of the day they first met
all the miles they have traveled and the faces they have known
feelings she’ll never forget

When the chains came off, It was You standing there
With a welcome in your eyes, you were holding bread and wine
giving me a crown of life
When the strom was done, It was You standing there
as the shelter of my soul, I was finally made whole
no need to cry no more
I remember chains, storms and wars, I thought would never end
Now I’m standing in the shadow of the One that ransomed me
When the war was won, It was You standing there
There was safety in your arms, at last I was secure
It was finally all clear
At the Journey’s end, It was You standing there
Promised always to be near, where no one compares
Just You standing there
All I knew were briars, thorns and stones, a rough and lonely road
now I’m covered by my only Love who’s made for me a home
At the Journey’s end, It was You standing there
Promised always to be near, where no one compares
Just You standing there
I Know you’re always near , where no one compares
Just You standing there

Lover's Moon
04:03
|
|||
It’s a beautiful night, Holding you tight
There is nowhere I’d rather be tonight
Than alone with you under a lover’s moon
Light shining down, fallin’ all around
We watch as it dances all across the ground
Alone with you under a lover’s moon
It flies above Orion, fills our southern view
we only have an hour, time stands still when I’m with you
Holding you tight, on a beautiful night
There is nowhere I’d rather be tonight
Than alone with you under a lover’s moon
I’m alone with you, under a Lover’s moon

The Wind and the Waves
03:13
|
|||
The wind and the waves on the deep dark sea, filled all their hearts with fear
Soon they found that their only hope was in the Lord so near
So they gathered around him sleeping on the deck, they woke him where he lay
He bid for the wind and the waves to calm, quickly the sea obeyed
When I’m overwhelmed in such a way, can’t believe I can face another day
Before I’m overcome with fear, I call on the Lord so near
He knows what worries me, nothing new before Him does He see
I learn as He sets me free, More of His love for me
Out in the desert in the blazing sun, Hot sand beneath their feet
an army of Egyptians closing in, they surely faced defeat
Then the big Red Sea that had blocked their way, rumbled and opened wide
They gathered their children close at hand, and walked safely to the other side

Flat River Girl
03:51
|
|||
I’m a heartbroken raftsman from Greenville I came
of my virtues departed with the lass I did fain
From the strong darts of Cupid I’ve suffered much grief
My heart’s broke asunder , I can get no relief
Of my story I’ll tell you without much delay
of the sweet little lassie, my heart stole away
She’s the blacksmith’s fair daughter on the Flat riverside
and I always intended to make her my brideI worked on the river where the white water rolls
My name I’ve engraved on the high rock and shores
I’m the boy that stands happy on the black purling stream
but, my thoughts were on Molly, she haunted my dreams
I gave fine jewels and the finest of lace
the costliest muslin, her forms to embrace
I gave my wages all for to keep safe
I deprived her of nothing I had on this earthWhile I worked on the river I earned quite a stake
I was steadfast and steady and I ne’er played the rake
On Camp Flat and river I’m very well known
They call me Jack Haggerty, the pride of the town
Till she wrote me a letter, which I did receive
She said from her promise, herself she be leave
For to wed with another she’d longtime delayed
and the next time I’d she her she’d no more be a maid
To her mother, Jane Tucker, I lay all the blame
for she caused her to leave and go back on my name
to cast off the riggings that God was to tie
and to make me a rambler till the day that I die
So come all you raftsmen with hearts stout and true
Don’t you trust to a woman, cause you deefed if you do
but, if you do meet one with black chestnut curls
remember Jack Haggerty and the Flat river girl

Maple Leaves
03:08
|
|||
Did you ever see the way the leaves turn upside down on the Maple trees
Before the breeze blows the summer rains close by
It’s like they know what’s comin’ round
Do they feel it somehow through the ground?
I’d like to know what my future bringsIf I’d known you’d come by that day, I’d thought of something that I could say
I’d make you know how much I need you in my life
But, my heart was all bound up inside
I spoke from fear and foolish pride
Missed my chance to keep you by my sideYou’ve got to be on time when your life is on the line
Can’t you read the signs as they’re fallin’ through your mind
If I could live that day again, I’d start by listening to the wind
Maybe then I’d see you comin’ with the spring
The winter rains are fallin’ now, they run across a frozen ground
I think I know what my future brings

Roger Cline Jarrettsville, Maryland
Roger grew up listening and singing along to the country and western music in his parents’ record collection during the late 50’s and early 60’s and was the first in his family to play music. He delved into 60’s rock as a teenager but in the 90’s discovered bluegrass and acoustic music, and eventually found his way back to solid honest feeling from the family record collection. ... more
